About: FwO_DF_BHD_BmsToMis V1.05
———————————————–
This tool will convert any Delta Force Blackhawk Down Binary Mission File
(with file extension “BMS” to the ASCII mission file format that can be
loaded by the Mission Editor that comes with the game.
This is THE most complete converter to date, and I have many additional
features in mind to come soon. (when I have time to implement them 🙂
The idea this program is that you can see by example how other people
did something. Please do not just add a tree to a map and then release it
as your own. If you take an idea or parts of a map, please give credit
where credit is due. (that would be the original map author:) Thanks!
If you have problems, please see the FAQ section at the end of the file!

if everything else fails please see if you can get a hold of somebody at the

FAQ
———————————————–
Q: I get an error, something about a missing dll
A: You need run time files, download at:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb60pro/Redist/sp5/WIN98Me/EN-US/vbrun60sp5.exe
Q: The choppers on map XXXXX won’t take off!
A: Then the choppers most likely use WAC script files.
See End of file. (for hints and info)
Q: I used file compare comparing an original BMS file a one exported after conversion
and the files don’t match %100
A: The order in which the mission manager stores items in the bms files can not be
determined by the MIS layout although the mission equivalent should be the same.
If however the files are differnt size, or something is not exactly the same in the
original map as in the converted and reexported map then please let me know. 🙂
Info: Wac Scripts
———————————————–
The wac files inside the localres.pff are script that can determine and change things not
possible otherwise using the standard mission editor events.
The wac file must have the same name as the final BMS file, and currently they need to be
packed (added) to the localres.pff before they will work.
I may write a tutorial on how to use script files, but I don’t have much time, so it’s not
very likely.
Hint:
———————————————–
However I can give hint’s 🙂
The following: “ssnloc(2612,20)” means,
if item with id (or ssn) of 2612 is within AREA TRIGGER
using SPECIAL ATTRIBUT of “Music (var3)” that EQUALS “20” then do
(the special attributes can be found in item property dialog box when you have selected and
area trigger object!)
