#1: Windows Update KB4048955 may be the MED killer Author: Tedsmelly, Location: Qld AustraliaPosted: Tue Dec 19, 2017 3:45 pm ---- This is a forum topic over at NovaHQ. Baldo the Don and others are trying to find out what is making the MED crash.
#2: Re: Windows Update KB4048955 may be the MED killer Author: FeloniousRat, Posted: Sat Dec 30, 2017 7:36 pm ---- This very much my opion based on how I view computers and software.
The game is designed to work with old computers, graphic cards, graphic card software and the older versions of Direct X.
As we increase the power of our computers, so the chipset and graphic cards change in structure. So does the drivers, to run these new parts.
Direct X has changed quite a bit since the inception of BHD.
My suggestion is get an old dual core computer, with a low level graphics card. (they can be bought for near peanuts now.)
Load Win 7 and pull the internet plug. Then Load BHD, then load the MOD 1.9.2 The BHD load will install the correct direct X. (or does the MOD 1.9.2 need a newer diract X, if so install the one designed for the MOD)
The MED should work perfectly well now as the MOD and its workings of the chipsets and drivers are compatable with the BHD programming structure.
The idea of this, is to keep your main new computer up to scratch with its new updates.
By running a second computer for the MED, its safe, it doesn't need anti virus or fireguards because the internet is NOT connected and basically your running an old horse on an old course.
Old horses on new courses are always problematic no matter what field you work in.
If I'm wrong here, don't be afraid to say so. I'm old enough and ugly enough to take criticism.

It may have something to do with the direct x mine has direct x 12. So all I done was put my old hard drive that had win 7 on it in my machine and now my med works along with everything else.
